Tiphaine Clerincx
Biography
Tiphaine Clerincx is a PhD student at the research group Sport & Society (SASO) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2022 and completed her certification as a Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Facilitator in 2023. She commenced her doctoral research in 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hebe Schaillée, Prof. Dr. Inge Derom, and Prof. Dr. Evert Zinzen (research group MOVE).
During the first two years of her PhD, Tiphaine contributed to the EU co-funded project Transformative Power of Sport for and by Students (TPS), collaborating closely with her supervisors, Plan International Belgium, and Plan International Spain. Her doctoral research focuses on the prevention of gender-based violence in sport and higher education settings. To achieve this objective, she collaborated with stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate an evidence-based gender-based violence prevention intervention for undergraduate physical education students in the context of the TPS project.
