In 2019, she started her PhD for the research platform of Sport (OPS) at VUB in collaboration with KU Leuven and UGent where she can combine her economic background with her passion for sports. Her PhD research investigates the quality of youth sports in Flanders. The ultimate objective of this PhD research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the current sports policy in Flanders and in particular the effectiveness of the policy focus ‘youth sports’ in order to be able to monitor this policy. How does the current policy focus lead to the intended outcome: a qualitative youth sport offer that increases youth sport participation? This PhD examines the organized sport sector, i.e. the Flemish sports federations and their sporting clubs.
